Biography

Rebekah (she/her) is a Geographic Information Science (GIS) and Fine Arts graduate from the University of Auckland. During her undergraduate studies, Rebekah developed an interest in the intersection of visual arts, spatial information, and disaster risk communication. She began exploring how spatial data could be seen and experienced as art, using maps, satellite imagery and environmental data as artistic material. This interest led to her 2025 Summer Research Scholarship, where she investigated how visual arts could be used as a communication tool to support public understanding of spatial disaster risk information. Rebekah was born and raised in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and is fluent in English.
