Migel Estoque

 

Biography

Migel Estoque holds a Masters degree in Disaster Management from the University of Auckland. She is a development professional with over 8 years work experience in communications, marketing and project management. Work interests include building community resilience, climate change adaptation and social impact initiatives.

As a youth leader, Migel is part of the Ayala Young Leaders Alliance in the Philippines. She was a Philippine delegate to the 2014 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Voices of the Future Forum in Beijing, China and later served as the APEC Youth Forum Co-Chair when the Philippines hosted APEC in 2015. In 2016, she was awarded an academic fellowship on environmental issues under the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) at the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
   
Migel was raised in Syria, Nigeria and the Philippines and now resides in New Zealand. Currently, she is part of the Red Cross Disaster Welfare Support Team and is learning Spanish and te reo Maori.
