Marah Villanueva
Biography
Marah Valerie Villanueva completed Master of Disaster Management at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Her research was about the challenges and opportunities in post-disaster resettlement in the Philippines.
Marah has more than five years of professional work experience in program management, post-disaster rehabilitation, resettlement, and implementation of capacity development and livelihood programs in the Philippines.
As a youth leader, Marah was awarded as one of the Outstanding Youth of Laguna, Philippines in 2014. She speaks Filipino and English but is also interested in learning other Asian languages after being involved in various international exchange programs in Asia. She served as a Philippine Youth Ambassador of Goodwill to the 43rd Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program in 2016 and as an ASEAN Youth Heritage Leader at the ASEAN Youth Volunteer Program in Malaysia in 2018.
