Loïc Le Dé

 

Biography

Loïc Le Dé is a senior lecturer and the programme leader for Emergency and Disaster Management at the Auckland University of Technology (AUT). Loïc’s research focusses on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), participatory approaches and tools for DRR, migration and remittances, resilience, sustainable livelihoods and sustainable development. His research aims to bridge the knowledge and action gaps between local communities and external aid agencies. As such he works with a large array of stakeholders including practitioners, policy makers, academics and local communities. He has an interest in the Pacific Islands Region, one of the most disaster-prone area worldwide. Since 2012, he has participated in more than 10 research projects in Samoa, Vanuatu, Tonga, New Caledonia and New Zealand.
