Kanika Kapoor
Biography
Having returned from her overseas experience in Belgium, Kanika is now pursuing research at The University of Auckland, towards her Master of Science qualification. Having completed her Bachelor’s double majoring in Geography and Environmental Science, Kanika has taken a keen interest in Disaster Risk Reduction, sustainable development, and GIS. Her current research focuses on disaster policies in India, in relation to the urban poor and informal settlements. Kanika believes that with a deeper understanding of the impacts of development on our environment and our people, we can implement better, sustainable, creative and innovative changes. Born in India and raised in Auckland, she is fluent in Hindi and English.
