Biography

Jordyn is a student at the University of Auckland. She is from South Africa originally but has spent most of her life in New Zealand. Jordyn graduated from the University of Otago in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography and Psychology, and is now completing a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Geography. Jordyn is interested in disaster risk reduction in urban areas and is focusing her honours research on flood risk reduction in Tauranga, where she used to live. She hopes to make a valuable contribution to the Tauranga community through this work. In the future, she would like to complete a Masters Degree also. Jordyn enjoys being outdoors and loves exploring new places around New Zealand. You will most likely find her at the beach or the lake when she’s not studying!
