ReNDES @ AUT
Biography
My name is Ihsan Nasir from Indonesia. I graduated as Master of Emergency Management from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in 2018. I also hold a medical doctor degree from Hasanuddin University, Indonesia. My previous role as coordinator of emergency department in a hospital provided me with experiences involving and leading our emergency team to disaster areas mainly in Indonesia. The role was also particularly related to the practice of hospital disaster planning and response management. I am currently working as Technical Adviser at Humanity & Inclusion (HI) in Myanmar Safe Hospital Initiative Project, which aims to strengthen disaster preparedness in critical healthcare facilities in Myanmar.
With no doubt, the master course in emergency management from AUT has helped me gain critical knowledge and skills needed to address my current responsibilities and my pivotal role as a TA as well as emergency manager. My research interests are hospital disaster preparedness, safe hospital initiative, and multi-agency coordination in disaster management.
