Hang Thai

Biography

Hang has recently completed Master of Disaster Management at The University of Auckland in New Zealand. Her research was about the iconography of NGOs’ and aid agencies’ publications on children in disasters. Hang has worked in different research projects around disaster risk reduction and post-disaster education continuity. She also has eight-year professional experience working in private sector. Hang has taken research interests in community-based disaster risk reduction, participation, policy, and inclusion of marginalised groups (children, women, non-binary gender groups, indigenous/ethnic minorities, migrants, and those with disadvantages).  She wants to further use her extensive professional experience in research and analysis, and cross-cultural awareness and insight to influence policies, research, and practice of DRR and development. Hang speaks Vietnamese and English.
