Chung Thi Nguyen

Biography

Chung has worked as a lecturer and a researcher at Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry in Vietnam for more than 10 years in the field of extension and rural development. She also has worked as researcher at Centre for Climate Change Study in Central Vietnam for 3 years. She worked closely with local communities in sustainable livelihood development, gender and development, and disaster risk reduction projects. She has obtained her Master degree in Agricultural system management at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. In the recent 5 years, her primary interests are disaster and livelihood issues within ethnic minority communities. Chung is currently pursuing her PhD in Emergency and Disaster Management at AUT, New Zealand. Her research looks at the disaster vulnerability of women from ethnic minorities through the lens of intersectionality.
