Carisya Nuramadea
Biography
Carisya Nuramadea is an Indonesian policy analyst and researcher currently undertaking a PhD in Environmental Science at the University of Auckland, focusing on disability and disaster management. Her professional journey began in storytelling, working as a journalist at Kompas Gramedia Group and with Conservation International Indonesia, before finding her path at the National Disaster Management Authority of Indonesia (BNPB). Academically, she holds a Master's degree from Universitas Indonesia and a Bachelor's degree in Literature and Applied Linguistics from Universitas Padjadjaran. Outside of her professional roles, she remains a student of literature at heart whose creative work has been recognized at the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival. In both her academic and creative pursuits, she believes in the power of words, images, and community to make space for more humane, creative responses to crisis and change.
