Biography

Anthony Gampell is a Professional Teaching Fellow in the School of Environment at The University of Auckland. His work focuses upon exploring disaster-based video games, both serious and mainstream, as tools to foster participation in learning about disaster and DRR. Anthony is also interested in exploring various elements of disaster popular culture and the connections between video games, participation, play and constructivist learning theory. As such, Anthony aims to include participatory activities within his teaching and when working with various groups of people including students, teachers, academics, local government and NGO’s.
