Ali Rezaie

Biography

Ahmad Ali Rezaie (goes by Ali) is a humanitarian practitioner who has worked in various advisory and project management roles with international NGOs and international organisations in different countries across the Asia-Pacific region. Ali has conducted assessments and developed and implemented projects involving disaster risk reduction, food security, livelihoods, and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) activities, providing relief and recovery assistance to disaster and conflict-affected populations.

Ali completed a Master of Disaster Risk Management and Development at AUT University. For his Master’s research project, he focused on the integration of disaster risk reduction measures into social protection programmes to build community-based resilience across South Asian countries. Ali is interested in understanding social and community resilience building, disaster risk reduction programming in fragile and conflict-affected contexts, the development of climate / disaster-resilient livelihoods, and approaches to community engagement and accountability
