Biography
Aditi is a PhD candidate at the University of Auckland from India. Before starting her degree, she has spent three years working around Disaster Risk Governance and risk informed development planning from local to national levels in India. She has also been involved in documenting the socio-technical facilitation for owner driven reconstruction process in Nepal. Aditi holds a Master’s degree in Disaster Management from Tata Institute of Social and Sciences (TISS), India and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from St. Xavier’s College, India. She is interested in social inclusion in Disaster Risk Reduction, especially around gender related issues, participatory planning and decentralized governance mechanisms with regard to disasters. She aspires to contribute in this field through her research and work to influence planning and policies for enabling socially inclusive DRR practices.
